We were honoured to have legendary producer Tony Visconti to contribute to the soundtrack from City Slacker which is available to listen and buy from the links below. Visconti, known for his epochal work with David Bowie and T Rex, co-produced four songs, performed and brought talent and his wisdom to the project. The soundtrack contains six original songs written by Geoff Jackson and one co-written by Geoff Jackson and Paul Cartledge, plus original score written by Geoff Jackson, Paul Cartledge and Philip Jewson.
The main theme song, “Love Keeps Growing”, is performed by Warner Music artist Debbie Clarke whose debut album Manhattanhenge was released in 2012. The closing song, “Darling Isabella” is performed by Chris Madin, who contributed lead vocals to the singles “Silence In Your Heart” and “Fool For Life” by Dutch trance stars Dash Berlin. Other main performers on the soundtrack include Geoff Jackson, in-demand strings for hire Dirty Pretty Strings and the internationally recognised City Of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra. The full soundtrack intersperses the music with lines of dialogue from the film, showcasing the humour and heart of the original script.
Tony Visconti said of the soundtrack, “I’ve known Paul Cartledge from Yellow Boat Music for at least 25 years and he asked me to be part of this ….After the first song when I heard how wonderful the composer Geoff Jackson was, it became a real treat…. There’s a lot of music in the film and there’s a lot of incidental music as well that is included – all the beautiful background music for the scenes written by Geoff, Paul and Phil Jewson. It’s fantastic music.”
