The Beat Beneath My Feet Stars Luke Perry (Beverly Hills 90210, Fifth Element) as Steve/Max Stone, a washed up, former rock God, and Screen International Star Of Tommorow 2015, Nicholas Galitzine as Tom, the frustrated teenager he takes under his wing. Lisa Dillon (Bright Young Things) plays Tom’s mother, Mary and Verity Pinter making her feature film début plays Felix, the girl Tom is in love with.

The Beat Beneath My Feet is directed by John Williams who wrote and directed “Hibernation”, which has won over 20 film awards and has screened in cinemas worldwide, and “Paraphernalia”, which won Best Drama at the LA Short Film Festival. He directed “Magic” for UK Channel 4’s Coming Up series, which starred BAFTA and Golden Globe nominee Jane Horrocks. He also worked on MTV Award winning music videos for rock groups Radiohead and Coldplay. The Beat Beneath My Feet is his feature directing debut.

The Beat Beneath My Feet features an original score of songs performed by Nicholas Galitzine with music by Geoff Jackson, Phillip Jewson and Paul Cartledge produced by Yellowboat Music. The film also includes the music of John Fairhurst as well as tracks by Kristeen Young, The Strypes, Radio Radio and Friday Club.


Tom, a teenage loner, dreams of becoming a rock star but feels thwarted by his God-fearing single mother, Mary. When an intimidating stranger moves into the flat below and plays loud rock music at all hours, Tom recognises him as disgraced guitarist, Max Stone, from rock band “Nothing”, who had disappeared presumed dead years earlier owing a fortune in unpaid tax. Tom agrees not to reveal him to the authorities on condition that Max, now known as Steve, teaches him rock guitar. As their relationship develops both man and boy navigate the path from rock hell to rock redemption.
